Its very nice scale. App works fine, but it’s better to keep phone close.3 stars only beacuse of the price and ridiculously huge inaccurate measurements. Hitting as much as around 30% between one measure and another. This is an example of body fat levels, or bone mass?Body weight is just about right.

I decided to bite the bullet and buy these very expensive scales after failing to find a cheaper set that were accurate enough for my needs. If you have smaller feet or good balance the smaller Tanita scales at £100 less are much better value but I could’t balance on them myself. Tanita have recently improved the bluetooth connection so they now connect when I open the app, rather than struggling to connect each time I use them. The design is pretty awful and could do with losing the shiny bits, but the amount of data from these scales is superb. Data shows on the scales and on the app initially. They’re said to be within 5% of a DEXA scan. but I have found they have a fault – very misleading hydration level reading , that doesn’t budge much from 37% even though I drink 2 litres of water a day and increasingly odd readings after 9 months of use. These appear to be defective and are going back under guarantee. The app has come in for a lot of deserved criticism and I hope Tanita simplifies the app and takes on that people want a true digital scale. Much of the information is in the app but you have to look at each metric separately to see the data, and it is not connected directly to the initial measurement but on separate pages, which compares current data and shows a graph of changes which do not have data points. To get the best info from these you have to print or save a PDF file which gives a lot more data including fat, water and muscle in both % and kilos. Tanita should rewrite this app, incorporate all the available data in the app, and make it easier to access. They are hideously expensive and I hoped for better from Tanita. I need more accurate scales wish I knew if I can risk another Tanita set.

Why oh why is creating a Bluetooth digital weighing scale so difficult. On receiving the scales, my phone and scale connected seamlessly and within 2 minutes I had my first reading…. fast forward 24 hours and the scale is no longer connected… and after 30 minutes of messing around I managed to install the device again which meant losing the first set of measurements. It would appear that you have to reconnect every time you use them, but it isn’t even as easy as that as they can’t find each other despite placing the phone on the scales. Another issue is that I have dropped 4% on the fat measurement which is great to see but after a life time of being around 19-20% fat, I am suddenly 16%I think they are going to have to go back …Stop press; We have got them working… not sure how, but we did it.The fat percentage seems to fluctuate but I am more confident that it is correct so the jury is out on the scales but decided to keep them!

I think all scales can get your weight right, so that is not a problem, you can get a cheap one. But if you care for a good estimate of fat and muscle percentages this is one the best I think. The cheap ones sometimes dont even do a proper estimate, they just use a formula based on your weight and height…. I have examined a few scales side by side for a month to see which one had the better consistency. This scale was by far the most consistent with a pattern over time that made sense according to what I could see visually. Of course it is very difficult to get an accurate measure of fat% with a simple scale but this one is the best I have seen. The numbers make sense in terms of absolute values but also in terms or relative changes over time. The app is also very easy to use, the graphics are so and so. Overall happy with the value I got out of this scale for tracking progress over and above my weight.

Out of the box it’s reasonably straight forward to set up, you do need to follow the instructions though. I dislike that I have to pair the device again every single time I’m going to use them, in this day and age that’s just not on, my headphones and car are smarter than these scales in that respect as they auto connect when in range/switch on! The data is sound and seems to be accurate. The app is pretty simple to use. However, it does not pair with myfitnesspal so if you’re using either of those, you need to be prepared to enter your stats manually every time you weigh. I really wish I’d checked that before I purchased but I was under the impression that they did.

High-quality glass and not very neat plastic, at first glance. The design of the scale is interesting and the display is normally readable, but the blue backlight is very acidic.

If you want to learn more about your body than, just how much you weigh, this will do it for you. I did a lot of research and this one came out on top for what I want and it hasn’t disappointed. The app is so useful and once you get it synced, its very user friendly. I love these scales.

Tremendamente inexacta.
