Polar H10 Heart Rate Sensor
The Polar H10 is a chest-strap heart-rate sensor designed for accurate, responsive heart-rate measurement during exercise and fitness assessment. We recommend it for use with the Chester Step Test, where practitioners need to monitor heart rate throughout the staged protocol.
Why use the Polar H10 for fitness assessment?
- ECG-based heart-rate measurement from a chest strap
- Bluetooth and ANT+ connectivity for broad device compatibility
- Polar Pro strap designed to remain secure during movement
- Replaceable battery for ongoing professional use
- Compatible with many phones, watches, apps and fitness devices
Using the H10 with the Chester Step Test
Heart rate is a key measurement within the Chester Step Test protocol. The H10 can provide live heart-rate data while the practitioner follows the staged test and records the required values in CST2 software.
For a complete setup, combine the H10 with a Chester Step Test step and CST2, or start with the Chester Step Test Kit.
Connectivity and practical use
The sensor supports Bluetooth and ANT+ connections and can be used with compatible devices and applications. For users who want to view live heart rate on a phone, Polar’s compatible app can be used where appropriate.
The chest strap should be fitted according to the manufacturer’s instructions and cleaned and maintained appropriately between uses.
Choosing a heart-rate sensor
A chest strap such as the H10 is a strong choice when direct, responsive heart-rate measurement is the priority. Cartwright Fitness is also preparing the Polar Verity Sense as an optical arm-based alternative for customers who prefer that wearing format.
