The C2 bike erg is undoubtedly my very best investment in terms of personal fitness, health and athletic performance gains……C2 customer service is exceptional; I had a slight issue with some unusual belt noise in the first few weeks, all sorted over email with full guidance and replacement parts offered if needed (they weren’t!) – if you are on the fence, just get it 🙂 mine was £1080 and feels like a bargain even at that price!

I’ve wanted a concept 2 bike erg for years, and finally bit the bullet and ordered one. I was lucky enough to get an Amazon warehouse “as new” item, for £250 less than RRP; it was in the original box and packaging, and doesn’t look like it was ever assembled so I assume it was a returned or cancelled order. This is a great deal considering concept 2 are never on sale or have offers! Im really happy with it, it does take some assembly but don’t be put off the instructions are clear. Box is huge but once assembled the bike doesn’t take up too much space. Really robust construction, will last for years!

Comes well packaged and the installation is well thought out with all the required tools.Installation videos are also on YouTube.The bike itself is great, completely solid. I would say that even on the lowest resistance it requires some effort to pedal. I have a magnetic spin bike as well and that can be ridden with barely any effort if desired. The pm5 monitor gives you a wealth of stats and workouts can be uploaded to Concept 2 web site using the free app ErgData. You can compare your results to others on the leaderboards for a selection of events. It pairs easily to a Bluetooth heart rate monitor such as a the Polar H10. This model comes with a universal mount for a tablet or phone. There is no water bottle holder, that is an optional extra on the Concept web site. A strange omission at this price point.There are free workouts of the day posted every day and monthly challenges available on the C2 site.It is quite noisy, I have mine in the garage but would not like to use it in the house.I also have the C2 rower and the fan sound is similar.Unlike other products Concept 2 have a huge community of users to share experiences with on facebook (bikeerg usergroup)Any Concept 2 purchase is guaranteed to meet your expectations 100 percent. Just the Skierg to go !

So similar to the concept 2 rowing machine which I’ve used for 30 years. Excellent quality. Seat hard. Good workout. Not easy to assemble. But very good.

Great bit of kit. Suitable for long distance as well as intervals… Whack the resistance up and feel your legs burn!We’ve done over 1000km since buying it a few weeks ago and still solid. The saddle is a little unforgiving so ensure you have cycle shorts or a cushioned cover. Love it.

Works very well for HIIT
I am not a cyclist. I bought this specifically for HIIT and for that it works perfectly.Easy to hit and control my heart rate targets. The bike does not do heart rate but I already use a Polar watch for that anyway.The machine is very solid and operates very smoothly. I am 6′, 165lb and 68 years old. Had no problem adjusting to my size.Assembly was fairly straight forward but screwing on the pedals was difficult for me using the supplied hex wrench. I had to use heavy gloves to protect my hand and probably should have used a ratchet wrench with hex adapter which would have made it much easier.I made a couple of modifications to to bike. First to the seat which is quite stiff and a little small for me. The seat is adjustable for height but not for angle but does sit level. I replaced it with a more cushy and slightly larger seat that uses standard horizontal wire rails. I had to send the first replacement seat back to Amazon as the adapter for a vertical round tube was apparently welded to the seat rails so was not removable. After picking another seat with a removable adapter it went on ok. The new seat however was angled back more than I like so I shimmed it more level using some scraps of rubber tubing that I split and popped over the rails toward the back of the seat. It’s still not quite level but works for me. Would be nice if the bike had a mount that would allow some angle adjustment for the seat as I think a number of people would want to get a different seat and with a replacement seat the angle might need adjusting.The other modification involves the resistance settings which are embossed (black on black and not easily readable) on the side of the fan housing. You can’t see this at all when riding and I did not want to get off of the bike to to make my changes in resistance between my two heart rate targets. So I placed black on white labels on the top of the housing to indicate the same values as shown on the side. Now I can adjust quickly while riding. I do have to stop pedaling while making the change but not really a problem for me. If I could give this 4-1/2 stars I would. With that changes that I made it works as well as the high end bikes in the gym that I used to use before the pandemic. Overall I’m very satisfied with the product.

No excuses to lose weight when you have one of these.
I have had Concept 2 Rowers in the past and found them to be great for losing weight. I lost 40 lbs by using one over the course of about 6 months without altering my diet. The problem with rowers is most people (including me) never really master the proper technique. We end up using way too much back and arms. That will still get your heart rate elevated so it is effective for weight loss but it can cause back injuries. You don’t need any special technique to ride a bike.I’m 63 now and sold my rower a few years back. The pounds are creeping back on. I was researching exercise bikes when I came across the Bikeerg. I did not know it even existed. Concept 2 makes top of the line equipment and I was already familiar with the PM5 monitor and how the drag system works so I ordered one. It arrived expertly packaged and I was able to assemble it by myself although an extra set of hands would be helpful. The machine is commercial grade like all their equipment. You will see numerous reviews of the Bikeerg popping up on youtube and I haven’t seen anything negative about it.I have used it almost everyday since getting it in mid March and already feel much better. It is a low impact way to get great cardio workouts. I would highly recommend using a heart rate chest strap to maximize your results.The seat was too hard for my liking but I solved that by getting a padded cover from Amazon. I also made some padded handlebar covers which make it more comfortable for me. There are endless seat and handlebar adjustments so any size rider can get comfortable. I am 6’3 and weigh 250 and have no problem getting everything adjusted. I just wheel it up close to my computer monitor and open up my favorite youtube playlist and start sweating. Concept 2 will send you suggested workouts for each day via email if you sign up at their site. You will never get bored with all the available options. I like to race against my best times with the goal of setting a PR every session and it is easy to do that with the PM 5 Monitor.There are many different exercise bikes on the market. Some much cheaper and some much more expensive. The Concept 2 Bikeerg is a heavy duty, built for a lifetime piece of equipment. I would recommend it for anyone who is looking for a quality exercise bike.
