BodyMetrix Pro System
BodyMetrix Pro System includes a handheld ultrasound probe, ultrasound gel, circumference measuring tape and BodyViewProFit software.
The BodyMetrix System offers the same professional-grade ultrasound technology used by elite athletes and trainers. This high tech, cutting edge device allows you to quickly, easily and accurately make assessments.
The BodyMetrix System does all this without embarrassing or painful pinching. Assessments take only minutes and are not affected by hydration, exercise level or caffeine intake. Since the BodyMetrix device can be plugged into your Windows or Mac desktop or laptop and Windows Pro tablets, you can make assessments anywhere.
Using the BodyMetrix System
This short video (2 minutes) shows how the BodyMetix System and BodyViewProFit software can be used.
Accurately Measure Body Composition
Body composition is calculated by measuring subcutaneous fat thickness at multiple sites. The number of sites depends on the formula and can range from an approximate single bicep measurement to nine sites. BodyMetrix Ultrasound measurements are not sensitive to hydration or exercise. Screenshots below show sample measurements using a single bicep formula on an overweight individual and a more accurate seven site formula on an elite athlete.
What People Say About BodyMetrix
New York Times Best Selling Author: 4 hr Body & Tools Of Titans
“The hand-held BodyMetrix Pro device uses ultrasound to measure body composition down to the millimetre. For those with the means, it is an outstanding option and my default choice.”
Ben Owen – Fast Way To Fitness
“We had a problem… clients were coming in who had trained hard and dieted, but the scales didn’t budge. That’s when we started to use BodyMetrix Pro ultrasound to access better.
The client experience went right up. There was no uncomfortable pinching like with skinfold callipers. Plus, the results were reliable and not affected by hydration levels or anything else.
Our clients could see fat loss right on the screen as we were taking measurements. It was motivating for them.
Its a great bit of kit, which is why we now have two here at Fast.
Its been a great tool that’s not only improved the client’s experience but helped our business too”.
Charlotte Ord – Personal Trainer & Former ITV’s Biggest Loser Trainer
We all know how important it is for many of our clients to have a quantitative measure of their progress.
Just feeling slimmer or even looking slimmer often is enough. They want to see solid numbers.
Of course, weight isn’t too hot a figure to go on because it doesn’t give you any indication of body composition changes, which leaves you in a pretty precarious position because even if your client’s doing great, dropped fat and gained muscle, they’re gonna feel like a failure if there’s no shift on the scale.
At my club, we’ve tried pretty much every combo of plausible data collection (I’ve tried to figure out where we could put a hydrostatic pool, but it’s just not happening. Meh).
Anyway, probably like you, we’ve used weight, circumference measurements, 3, 7 and 12 site calliper testing, bio sig methodology, yadda yadda yadda.
And all of them have their merits and shortcomings.
By far, the most successful data collection we’ve ever used is the Bodymetrix Pro Ultrasound, and I just wanted to tell you a bit about it because loads of you have been asking what it’s really like.
I must say, I’m a fan.
There are some really awesome things about this piece of kit.
First off, it enables you to measure body fat thickness accurately and identify changes to the muscle tissue structure.
Secondly, it shows you quite clearly someone’s body fat distribution and patterning, which my team and I find super helpful in piecing together our members’ hormonal picture, in combination with detailed questionnaires (if you’re not assessing, you’re guessing, so make sure make like Sherlock and dot the i’s).
Thirdly, BodyMetrix Pro offers you a whole range of different testing methodologies within the software so that you can select the one that best suits your time availability and client needs (for example, a 1 site might be more comfortable for someone who is very body-conscious).
Fourth, it’s cutting edge and looks the part. People are impressed with it, and if you’ve got a very high-end business like mine, it’s important to offer the best of everything.
Fifth, it develops a comprehensive report that you can send directly to your clients at the click of a button, which saves a hell of a lot of time. And that’s something we all need more of.
And finally, there’s no uncomfortable pinching. It looks professional, feels professional, and is professional.
Like all things that are any good, it’s not cheap. But I now own two of them and wouldn’t go back to any other method.
